FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything contractors ask before working with us — how to get started, what we estimate, pricing and turnaround, branding, and where we draw the line on compliance.

Getting started

Q.How do I request an estimate?

Click “Request an Estimate” anywhere on the site. Pick your service(s), enter the property address and scope of work, and upload photos of the damage or repairs, measurements, and any scope documents. A specialist reviews it, confirms pricing, and gets started. Existing customers can sign in to place and pay for an order directly.

Q.What information do you need to produce an estimate?

The property address, the scope of work, and supporting detail — photos of the damage or completed repairs, measurements, and any scope or inspection documents. The more complete the information, the faster and more accurate the estimate.

Q.Do I need an account to get started?

No. Anyone can request an estimate — you'll just leave your name, company, phone, and email so a specialist can follow up. Existing customers get a portal to place orders, track progress, and download their finished estimates.

Q.How do I get my finished estimate?

You'll be notified when it's delivered. Customers can download the finished estimate, reports, and Certificate of Completion right from their portal, and watch each estimate move through our shop in real time.

Services & tools

Q.What tools do you estimate in?

Xactimate and CoreLogic/Symbility — the industry-standard platforms — plus PlanSwift and Craftsman for take-offs. Every deliverable is formatted to carrier standards and branded for your company.

Q.What kinds of estimates do you prepare?

Insurance and carrier-funded property-damage estimates, contractor bids and material take-offs, express roofing and siding scopes — plus supplements, build-back, remediation and mitigation, back-office carrier documentation support, and a range of reports and add-ons.

Q.Do you prepare supplements?

Yes. We prepare thorough, well-documented supplemental estimates and the supporting documentation the contractor needs — accurate line items backed by clear photos and notes.

Q.Do you handle roofing and siding?

Yes — express roofing and siding estimates for fast, itemized scopes, plus full build-back estimates when the job goes beyond the exterior.

Q.What reports and add-ons can you include?

Roof reports, weather/verification reports, code reports, tarp and invoice reports, and a Certificate of Completion, among others — add any of them to your request.

Pricing & turnaround

Q.How is pricing structured?

Per estimate for the documentation work — never tied to any claim outcome. Rush and large-job rates are disclosed up front, with no surprise fees.

Q.How much does an estimate cost?

It depends on the type and scope of work. Published starting prices are on our Pricing page (for example, express roof estimates start at $75 residential and $179 commercial). Final pricing is confirmed after our team reviews your request.

Q.How fast is turnaround?

Turnaround is job- and file-dependent, with standard and rush options and 99% on-time delivery.

Q.Do you offer rush service?

Yes. Rush turnaround is available for an added fee that's disclosed up front — handy when you're up against a deadline.

Q.How do I pay?

Existing customers pay securely through their portal with a card on file. New requests are quoted and confirmed by a specialist before any charge.

Branding & delivery

Q.Are the estimates branded?

Yes. Every estimate is formatted with your logo, contact information, and brand colors, so it goes out looking like your company produced it.

Q.Can I use my own company branding?

Absolutely. Add or update your logo and brand color in your portal account, and we'll apply them to the estimates we prepare for you.

Q.What format do I receive the estimate in?

A clean, carrier-formatted PDF — plus the native Xactimate or Symbility file where applicable, and any reports you requested.

Working with us

Q.Who do you work with?

Contractors and restoration professionals — roofing, general contracting, remodeling, and restoration/mitigation companies. We never work with homeowners or policyholders.

Q.Where do you operate?

Nationwide. We work remotely and efficiently across all 50 states, with optional on-site support where needed.

Q.Can I track my estimate?

Yes — a real-time tracker (Received → Scoping → Estimating → Quality Check → Delivered) in your portal, plus a shareable status link you can send your team or client.

Q.How do I send photos and measurements?

Upload them right in the request form or your portal — photos, measurements, and scope documents (PDF, images, or Xactimate/Excel/Word files).

Compliance

Q.Do you work with homeowners?

No. Estimate Experts works exclusively with contractors and restoration professionals — never homeowners or policyholders.

Q.Are you a public adjuster?

No. We provide back-office estimating and documentation services for contractors only. We do not adjust, negotiate, or settle insurance claims, interpret coverage, or represent policyholders.

Q.Do you guarantee my claim will be approved or paid?

No. We prepare accurate, thorough estimates and documentation for the contractor. Coverage decisions and payments are between the property owner and their insurer — we don't influence or promise any outcome.
